Metabolites of bacteria and fungi

In an in vitro study IMS-chromatograms of different bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus agalactiae, Haemophilus influenzae, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Escherichia coli, Serratia marcescens, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterobacter cloacae) and a fungus, Candida albicans, were obtained. The selected bacteria and Candida albicans could be defined and distinguished by different metabolites. Signals of SEPSIS are under investigation.

Experiments are running considering metabolic signals of E.coli, Pseudomonas aeroginosa and Aspergillus fumigatus in headspace, in vivo and in exhaled breath.
